What Are Agreements?
An agreement is a signed arrangement to pay - a maintenance contract billed monthly, staged works, or any ongoing engagement. The customer reviews and signs online, attaches a payment method as part of signing, and Sawfish handles the schedule from there.

The lifecycle
Section titled “The lifecycle”| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Draft | You’re still building it - the client hasn’t seen it. |
| Sent | Delivered to the client for review and signature. |
| Active | Signed, payment method attached, schedule running. |
| Paused | Temporarily suspended - no payments are taken. |
| Completed | The schedule has finished. |
| Voided | Cancelled. |
The All filter above the list narrows it by status, and each row shows the client, project name, agreement ID, total value, paid so far, and outstanding.
Why use agreements instead of invoices?
Section titled “Why use agreements instead of invoices?”- One signature, many payments. The client signs once; payments follow the schedule automatically.
- Payment method up front. The client attaches a card, PayTo, or bank details at signing - so collection isn’t a chase.
- A clear record. The signed document, terms, timeline, and payment history live together.
